You must have your Parent Consent form AND Medical form BEFORE March 1st
Your medical from your doctor lasts one calendar year. You will NEED to have the forms on my website complete (no other medical forms are necessary) and use the checklist.
The checklist will help you fill out the info on the forms correctly. (make sure doctors fill out forms correctly by using the checklist!)
For the girls that have had a medical from a previous season this year, tell me that info and you may not have to get another medical.
EVERY MEDICAL FORM YOU HAND IN IS ACCEPTABLE FOR ONE CALENDAR YEAR.
START RUNNING (PRESEASON)
Whether it is in your neighborhood, Astoria park track, your treadmill or your stairs in your apartment; YOU MUST start jogging and getting in shape. I will expect leaders on this team to contact everyone to start practicing. I will not be able to meet as a team until March 2024
PRACTICES
We will practice Monday - Friday after school for about 2 hours until 4:45pm rain or shine!
We will meet at Astoria Park right after school on the track. You will place all of your belongings in the same location in the middle of the track. If we need to bring equipment like first aid kit, AED, hurdles, shot put balls, batons, speed ropes, speed chute, cones, etc., upperclassman can pick them up in the gym.
If there is bad weather, we will meet in cafeteria and stay in the gym or in the school building.
MEETS aka Games
All players on the team will attend meets. If you miss a significant amount of practices or meets, you will not be a part of this team.
Varsity sports are for competing and getting better every day. You will get better after each and every practices you attend. If you are not able to commit to the team, you will not be a part of the team.
First Meet will be at end of March See PSAL Site
Players that have been on meets (aka games) in the past may explain what it is like for the other players.
