SOCCER PE Tournament
During PE, depending on the amount of students enrolled in the class, you will have 6-8 players on your team.
Your team will consist of:
1 Goalie (Can use hands to prevent ball from entering net)
3-4 Defenders which may consist of a Left Back, Center Back, Right Back, and possibly a sweeper (last defender before the goalie). They all prevent forwards from kicking ball at net
3-4 Forwards which may consist of aka Strikers (responsible for kicking ball in to net)
In the beginning of the unit, we will have scrimmages aka practice games to allow your team to choose their positions. Once the official games start, you will not be able to switch positions unless players are absent from school. If students come to class unprepared, there are no changing positions unless it is the goalie.
RULES
In order to allow the game to flow easier and faster, there will be no boundaries, which means NO out of bounds.
If the teacher deems it unnecessary to play, a player will overhand throw the ball on to the field keeping their feet/toes on the ground.
HAND BALL = If the ball is touched with a hand, it results in an indirect kick (pass) for the opposite team. If the hand ball occurs inside the goalie box, it results in a penalty kick for the opposite team.
OFFSIDES = Due to the limited amount of space, we will not be reviewing any offsides penalties for PE soccer
PENALTY KICK = aka PK is when a player is allowed to take a single shot on the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper
All teams in each class are represented as a numbered team, a color and or country
